Davison’s Bakery is an independent family bakers based in Newark, Nottinghamshire providing a wide selection of handmade breads and cakes as well as a wide variety of hot and cold food, all available from their shop daily or by delivery (within a 10mile radius). We also do outside catering for any type of event, big or small you may have.
Our baker Richard Davison started his working life at Gadsby’s Bakery in Southwell back in 1993 and worked there full time until 2002. Despite an absence from baking for 12 years he has never lost his enthusiasm and skills he learnt all those years before.
When the opportunity came up to take over this Bakery it was one we could not turn down, having his own Bakery was what he had always wanted. Now almost two years on from opening the Bakery Rich still loves getting up at 2.30am to produce fresh bread, rolls and cakes everyday.
Every week he is testing out new products and coming up with new recipes to keep the customers happy. He has recently added a new line of Sourdough breads which have gone down a storm, everything from a basic Sourdough to Beetroot, Garlic and Herb and Caraway Seed flavours plus lots more. He often has customers coming to him asking for a variety of new products and flavours and Rich is more than happy to give anything a go.
Richard’s wife Rebekah helps with the cakes and produces beautiful Celebration cakes. She is a self-taught cake baker and decorator and is often trying out new flavours and designs.
